....I use Vintage C&H Sugar Sacks for the Back of the Hillbilly Fur Jackets, quilting around the lettering and other areas of the Sack to give dimension and depth. The buttons are Antler buttons I buy at Rendezvous.

Slashed----Beautiful Technique from the Renassaince
....The following Jackets display a technique from the Renassaince that has been revived for a Modern Look, only Royalty during the Renassaince wore garments using this technique, and they were usually constructed of Silk. I can only imagine the many hours it took to construct a garment completely using Hand Sewing. My jackets have 8 layers of a natural fiber, they're then quilted, and the final step is slashing to the bottom layer, between the Quilting.
....I have several Names for my Jackets when I finish, but they're not printable, it's a labor intensive technique, and if everything goes well, and the final layer is being slashed and the bottom layer is accidentally cut, forget ALL your work, the Jacket is ruined.
....I tell anybody that asks how to construct this Jacket, when I tell them about slashing and the probability of ruining the Jacket after many hours of quilting and slashing, They usually buy one from me.
....After customer input, I designed and drafted my own construction methods for the slashed Jacket, the layering, quilting, and slashing are the same, except I added a long sleeve as requested. I use Abalone buttons and all my Customers agree, they are stunning jackets that can be dressed up or down.
